The Cridge Club, Pastor Richard Montgomery
Started by Dr. Jack and Mrs. Joan Krayenhoff over ten years ago, the popular Cridge Club is an outreach for seniors. Now under the leadership of Pastor Richard Montgomery and host of volunteers, the ministry centre is a buzz every Thursday. They provide an excellent lunch, great fellowship, lively background music, followed by a speaker touching on a variety of topics such as, medical, legal, travel, and spiritual, all geared to seniors interests.
Living Edge, Victoria, BC, Neil Van Heerden, lead pastor
Living Edge is a ministry of the Church of Our Lord in the Quadra Village area of Victoria, BC. The desire of Living Edge is to show God’s love through the meeting of physical, emotional needs, and spiritual needs of those in the community. Each Sunday about 200 hot meals are prepared by an army of volunteers. A short time of worship and sharing is also included. Twice a week food is distributed and there is a meeting for Bible study and prayer ministry.
William Head Prison Outreach, Pam Vuckson
Pam, along with several other volunteers, hold weekly Bible studies and Alpha courses at the prison. Friendship and socializing also take place during this prison ministry. They also keep in touch with some of the men once they have been released to half-way houses and then to full release.
The Table, Pastors Andy Withrow and Josh Wilton
The Table, an ANiC church plant, is a community aiming to love God, love others, and bless their neighbours in order to see Jesus Christ revealed in common life. We see ourselves like a pomegranate – one church with lots of clusters. Every other Sunday (or so) we gather at Church of Our Lord for a meal (4pm) and worship (5pm). On the alternate Sundays we scatter and meet in neighbourhoods around the city, and have nearly a dozen different midweek gatherings.
Leading Influence, Victoria, Pastor Tim Schindel
Leading Influence Ministries is an independent, non-partisan, not-for-profit ministry led by Pastor Tim Schindel. The vision of Leading Influence is to provide spiritual encouragement, pastoral care and chaplaincy support services to MLA’s and MP’s across Canada.
Sanctuary Youth Centre, Pastor Darin Reimer
Sanctuary operates from the COOL basement, offering a safe place for youth at-risk. Here they find a hot meal, a game of pool, computers to check e-mails, a place to shower and wash clothes, fellowship and a listening ear from staff and volunteers. Founded by Pastor Rob Trepanier, the centre was birthed in prayer by the city pastors and is supported by the wider church of Victoria. Pastor Darin Reimer is the present Director of the Centre.
The Cridge Centre for the Family, Shelley Morris CEO
The Cridge Centre for the Family shares a common founder with Church of Our Lord, Bishop Edward and Mrs. Mary Cridge. It is western Canada’s oldest registered non-profit society and its purpose is to manifest the love of Jesus Christ by providing services that include: child care, supportive housing, a transition house for women, respite care, services for survivors of brain injury, and seniors’ assisted living housing. Rev. Lynne Ellis serves on the Board.
Church’s Ministry among Jewish People, Rev. Sharon Hayton
CMJ (The Church’s Ministry among Jewish People) is a global family mobilizing diverse resources for bearing authentic, compassionate gospel witness in many parts of the world. Rev. Hayton is currently the Executive Director of CMJ Canada. She believes we are living in a time when the Lord is reawakening His church to the significance of His plans and purposes for Israel.
International Student Ministries Canada (ISMC), University of Victoria, Daniel and Sandi McDougall
The McDougalls are working with international undergraduate students, graduate students, and visiting professors and researchers. Their focus is Bible exploration in order for people to meet Jesus and encounter a God who loves and has a place of significance for each one.
